Viagra and melanoma? A recent study from Sweden appearing in the Journal of the American Medical Association showed that men who take oral erectile dysfunction drugs (such as Viagra and Cialis) may have an increased risk of developing malignant melanoma. Why? It’s completely unclear. In fact the authors are not even certain that the drugs are responsible. What to do? Absolutely nothing. Until more data is available there is no reason to stop using these drugs because of fear they will cause skin cancer. Just continue to use sunscreens.
